All lectures are held at 6pm

The seminars are conducted at the St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center. Directions to the Rehab Center are shown below. Enter through the In-patient entrance (on your left as you face the building from Joseph Drive). There is a circular drive, a covered drop-off/pick-up area and a revolving door. There will be signs posted to direct you to the seminar location. If you get lost, you can call the Rehab Operator @ 979-821-7300. If you are unable to attend, or plan to bring additional persons, please let us know.

You must sign in and attend the entire lecture, which usually last 1-1.5 hours, to be eligible for surgery. If you would like to have your height/weight/BMI verified on our scale, you are welcome to do so at no charge. You must be barefooted when stepping on the scale, so come a little early and wear easy on/off shoes. PLEASE NOTE: YOU CANNOT USE OUR TANITA SCALE IF YOU HAVE A PACEMAKER. You must notify our staff if you have a pacemaker, we will make other arrangements to calculate your BMI. Please call if you have any questions.

St. Joseph has regular Surgical Weight Loss seminars where physicians educate you on the benefits and risks of bariatric surgery. Time is always made available to answer your individual questions and former patients come to tell their stories. Attendance at one of the seminars is a mandatory requirement for all gastric bypass patients. You must pre-register to attend.
